ABOUT US

At the beginning of their first year of college, Savannah Mitchem caught Zac Freeman’s eye at a swing dancing lesson, and he monopolized her for most of the social dance portion.
For a few months after that, they would periodically say hi to each other in the halls of the dorm building they both lived in.
One day, they both attended a football game with some mutual friends, and Zac was awarded Savannah’s phone number after cracking some good jokes in front of her.
After that, they went on hundreds of walks around campus and supported each other throughout their physics program.
Somewhere in there, they got sushi for their first official date. Zac had prepared beforehand to say, “I’m so good with chopsticks I can eat sushi with just one,” and then stab a piece and eat it. Shockingly, the joke landed well (easy crowd).
Six years of dating later, and four of them long-distance, Zac moved to Chicago and proposed to Savannah on their way to sing karaoke one night. She said yes, they sang “This Must Be the Place,” and then got Taco Bell.
Since then, they have adopted a cat named Boots who will be joining them in their new home together. Boots has yet to experience her first Chicago winter and it remains to be seen what this Florida orange will make of the snow.
Zac and Savannah are so happy to get to share their lives together, and they can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with friends and family.
* Zac has since claimed that he was playing the field at swing dancing and that he did most of the supporting during the physics program.
